¡Hola, nostalgia ochentera! He-Man regresa a la televisión

He-Man y Masters of the Universe viajarán desde los años ochenta hasta nuestros días de la mano de Netflix y Kevin Smith.

Por si no lo sabías, He-Man es un personaje que fue muy popular en esa década, está basado en una línea de juguetes y pertenece a Masters of The Universe.

He-Man es en realidad el príncipe Adam de Eternia y utiliza una Espada de Poder para transformarse en el héroe He-Man y defender su reino y el Castillo de Grayskull, la fuente de sus poderes, del acecho de Skeletor.

Smith sorprendió a todo el mundo el domingo 18 de agosto en Power Con, una convención que se celebra en Estados Unidos, al anunciar que Netflix y Mattel se unirán a él en la creación de una nueva serie animada de He-Man.

Esta serie será  “una historia totalmente original ambientada en el mundo épico de la franquicia global de juguetes de más de 35 años de Mattel, He-Man”, de acuerdo con Netflix.

We surprised the panel in attendance with the news and, by the Power of Grayskull, it went over huge! This is the secret project marvelous @marcbernardin and I have teased on #fatmanbeyond for the last few months: a continuation of the classic era #motu, featuring all the Eternians you love and hate: He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Man-at-Arms, Orko, Cringer, Evil-Lyn, Randor, Marlena and more! To be entrusted with this rich mythology is a gift, so the writers and I treat it as such. Along with me and Marc, @supergirlcw writer rock star @etcarrasco is on board, as is @quesadiya (who we snagged from the #magicthegathering animated series), and #reignofthesupermen super scribe @ilovetimsheridan! Rob (author of the Eternity War) and Melanie at #mattel have been incredible partners in crafting an epic tale of the final battle between the defenders of Grayskull and the forces of Snake Mountain! Many thanks to colorist and Con creator @jamesvalstaples and the fine folks at the #powercon for letting us summon the Power there! But the big thanks go to @animateted, a lifelong He-Man fan who made this his passion project! Most execs give notes on drafts handed in, but Netflix Teddy was WITH us in the Writer’s Room, dropping legit fire ideas for Revelation because he is a fan of the franchise, first and foremost. We never have to explain our weird, wonderful world to some stodgy suit who hasn’t heard of Hordak because Ted’s forgotten more about the #mastersoftheuniverse than some of us will ever know (luckily, we have He-Man.org as an astonishingly accurate research index)! Masters of the Universe: Revelation será el nombre de esta nueva serie y se centrará en las historias no resueltas de la caricatura original, informó The Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix le apuesta al anime

Todo parece indicar que una de las grandes apuestas de Netflix para captar a nuevas audiencias está en el anime, pues He-Man se acaba de unir a una gran lista de animes que podremos ver en la plataforma próximamente.

Entre estos productos están Magic: The Gatering, Castlevania, Devilman Crbaby y Aggrestsuko, solo por mencionar algunos.

Pero este no es el único plan para Masters of the Universe. Ya tenemos una serie animada de She-Ra y las princesas del poder. También está en camino una película live action de Masters of The Universe, protagonizada por He-Man.

Y lo mejor de todo es que Noah Centineo, el protagonista de A todos los chicos de los que me enamoré, está en platicas para interpretar a He-Man.
