El legendario guitarrista británico Jeff Beck, que se hizo célebre con la banda The Yardbirds en los años 1960, murió a los 78 años de meningitis, anunció su familia en un comunicado.

Nacido en junio de 1944 en Londres, Jeff Beck es considerado uno de los mejores guitarristas de rock, hard rock, blues e incluso de jazz de todos los tiempos, al lado de Eric Clapton y de Jimmy Page, con quien tocó en la banda The Yardbirds.
Fundó a finales de los años 1960 el grupo The Jeff Beck Group junto al cantante Rod Stewart y el guitarrista Ron Wood, antes de iniciar una larga carrera en solitario.
